Bookkeeping Central is looking for a Senior Accountant who will help them reach its full potential! If you are a young and driven accountant with a good track record of two to five years of experience in Audit, then this role might just be perfect for you. The ideal candidate will be someone who’s passionate about leading, has impeccable English written and verbal communications skills, and is great with people management.

 JOB DUTIES: The Senior Accountant will enable the production of quality work and provide a high level of technical competence, with the support of the Manager, to meet client needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe position holder shall undertake the following functions: (Specific, all related to the position)

  • Supervise and support junior team members on a daily basis to ensure they effectively complete their tasks.
  • Assist the Manager in their role in ensuring an efficient workflow within the team.
  • Proven problem solving and decision making to improve the quality of services provided.
  • Business skills to assist with cash flow planning, budgeting, analyzing and management accounts.
  • Exceptional time and project management skills.
  • Liaise with clients and Managers regarding queries on client work;
  • Attend the day-to-day transactions of assigned clients – Bank allocation, Payroll, Bills Payment, etc.
  • Handle Client’s accounts email and respond to suppliers and customers
  • Ensure both technical skills and industry and client knowledge are maintained through attending relevant training sessions, reading and personal research.
  • Assist in the development of systems and processes that will ensure all work is performed to the highest professional standard and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the firm.
  • Achieve the billable hours budget;
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) using Xero working papers
  • Contribute to the firm’s business development by identifying additional work opportunities from existing clients, and promoting the firm and its services to clients and associates.

JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation/License : Licensed Certified Public AccountantWork Experience :

  • Must have 3+ years overall experience with at least 2 years of experience in local audit.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year hands-on and multiple clients’ experience in processing Australian accounts.

Core Competencies:

  • Must have Xero/ MYOB/Reckon Accounting Software Experience
  • Must have advanced excel skills, proficient word skills.
  • Must have demonstrated management skills and leadership skills and experience in an operational accounting / bookkeeping environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills. Attention to detail is a must.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised and show initiative.


  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6am – 3pm or 7am – 4pm
